Summertime / Downtime

Half of 2020 has been spent working from home, kids at home, isolating, limiting activities and movement.

We managed to take a quick trip to Florida last weekend. It was a long drive there and back, but SOOOOOO worth every minute. We made memories of a lifetime. Simple memories.

Beach, pool, outside dining, catching crabs at night, riding waves during the day, kids enjoyed their goggles and boogie boards. We went night swimming in the pool, sat out on the back patio, which was right next to the pool. Everything was private, no crowds, and it was just lovely. Very refreshing, rejuvenating, and a nice change of pace from the 4 walls at home.

This summertime is coming to a close, and I don’t have any regrets about being home this summer. AT ALL!

The one thing I long for, is that our lives would stay at this slower pace, but all good things come to an end. 🙂

We will get used to the hustle and bustle once again, and it will become our new normal once again.

I just know that I truly enjoyed working at home, having the kids here, being able to make them breakfast, lunch and dinner, and not having to rush off anywhere.

I was never a fan of the down time, but 2020 has made me relish every second of it, because I know that it was only temporary, and we would never have this again.

I am a full time worker, kids have activities, school, and we are go go go constantly.

This mom hardly gets down time.

So..these next 2 weeks, I am going to make sure I slow down more, relish every second at home more, and not get stressed out about the weeks coming up.

Live in the moment..
