When you’re working at home, your kids are also home for the summer, and there are multiple conference calls, when do you have to say, I need a break for the kids to get fresh air?
I am struggling with the daily routine, as it changes with each one that comes along.
I started out great, with afternoon walks in the neighborhood, but work has started consuming more and more of my time. Much more than I would like.
I must now take a step back, review the schedule, the demands, and determine what our new routine will be, since afternoon walks just can’t happen as I first thought they might.
The kids still sleep in, and I was letting them fend for themselves for a while. They would get their cereal, watch tv, maybe get dressed and brush their teeth.
Summertime is fun time though.. I sure hope they are enjoying the down time.
We never get this, and it’s almost making them lazy.. oh boy.. can’t have that!!!
I have let the boys build up their lego town and build multiple car lots, military bases, and launch pads for their helicopters all around my livingroom. It’s busy, but they are enjoying their creative world.
I just need to ensure that my sanity doesn’t go down the toilet because work consumed my life, and there is much more important life in this house that needs tending to right now.
Doing my best, but I know I can do better.
